Several New Cards

Hi all.  I want to thank those of you who participated in the Imagine That Digi Stamps, Name that Card Artist contest.  We actually had one person guess all of them right!  I couldn't do that, myself.  Here is my card that was used for the contest.  It is from the Imagine That BCA Full Support set.  I colored the image with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.  The background was stamped with my breast cancer awareness rose and ribbon stamp.

The following cards were made this past week and I just decided to show them all in this post.

Progressive Digi Challenge for October

Hi all.  Today I am posting my card for the Imagine That Digi Stamp Progressive Challenge.  

Since this is breast cancer awareness month, we are doing a BCA image for the challenge.  

The set is called "Let's Squash Out Cancer".  It is a very appropriate name as you shall see, below.  My card was created with Copic and Sharpie markers and cut out with a Nestabilities die.  

The background was embossed.  I tangled the area that says cancer, under the elephant.  

The envelope was stamped with a rose in a ribbon that says "Stamp Out Breast Cancer"

Um Um Good!

Hi all.  Today I am going to give you a bit of advice, along with my card, for Imagine That Digi Stamps.  I used the lemon parfait digi stamp from the Parfait Delights file.  I colored the image with alcohol markers and cut it out with a Nestabilities die.  I decided to make it into an easel card.  I used a designer paper for the background and base and just happened to find this small piece of trim that went with the colors, exactly!  

Do you see the advice?  LOL!

A friend asked me to make a wedding card for her nephew, who is getting married in Oct.  

This is what I came up with...

This too, is an easel card.  I used Flower Soft for the bouquet, a stamp that I heat embossed 

for the lace on the top along with a piece of trim for the bottom.   I used some dry embossed 

vellum for the base.  A heart button was used for the easel stopper.  My friend loved it!

Humphrey's Apples

Hi all.  For the September challenge at Imagine That Digis, we are doing something different.  Instead of using a particular stamp for the Progressive Challenge, we are letting you choose any image from Imagine That Digis.  It can be from the past or from one of the new sets in the store.   As usual, everyone who plays, will get next month's image for free.  Sounds good doesn't it?

There are some wonderful new digis that have just recently been released.  Be sure to check them out.

I used the new Humphrey's Apples digi for my project.  I love the new Humphrey's sets and I had a hard time deciding which one to do!  

The image was colored with Copic & Sharpie markers and then mounted on a piece of designer paper.  I wrapped 2 corners with baker's twine and added 2 brads in the other corners.  I also added some fake stitches around the image with a white gel pen.  The card base was embossed and I 

swiped a Ranger's Distress ink over it to make the details show up.

Last Post for August

Hi all.  This is my last post for the month of August.  I chose the file called Lighthouse.  I kept my card very simple.  After printing the image, I colored with colored pencils and Sharpie markers.  I also added the flying seagulls in the background by hand.  The image was layered over black card stock and I used square brads in each corner, before glueing the entire matted image onto the yellow card base.  I added the red & white baker's twine to give it that nautical feel.

My next card is one that I made for my ex-husband.  He is a pilot instructor and I decided to make something humorous for him, especially with what the 2 of us have been going through with the loss of our only son.  The inside of the card says "not you, I was talking about the plane!"  Tomorrow is his birthday.  I hope he receives it in time!

In a couple of days, Imagine That Digis will be offering a new image for the progressive image challenge.  Keep your eyes out.  You are gone to love it!

Love Swans

Hi all.  Today I am showcasing a file called Love Swans by Imagine That Digi Stamps.  Even though this was intended to be a Valentine set, It is also great to use for a wedding or anniversary card.  I used Spectrum Noir and Copic markers to color the image.   I used a Nestabilities, die cut, to cut out the image and another of the same size, in black, which I cut in half and used as a shadow behind the image.  A Martha Steward punch was used on the bottom of the card and I added a strip of pink card stock on the inside, to make the punch, pop out.  A piece of pink washi tape was added along the top.  I hope you enjoy my project.  Please leave a comment so that I know you were here.

A COUPLE OF MY RECENT CARDS...

Hi all!

I have been trying to keep busy lately with my card making.  I thought I would show you a couple of my latest cards... The first one was stamped with a very large butterfly image and heat embossed with ultra fine black embossing powder.  I colored it with only 2 Copic markers.  I placed the card front on my Cuttlebug plate and taped each die cut so they would not move.  I cut the entire thing in one passing.  After that, I used pop dots, graduating each layer so that I ended with 5 layers of pop dots on the center piece.  I love the effect of this technique.

The second card was made for my sister's birthday.  I used a digital image and colored it with colored pencils.  I die cut the image and also cut a piece of black card stock with the same die.  I cut the black one in half and made a partial frame with it.  I wanted it to give some contrast against the pink, embossed piece of card stock.  I layered them on a white card base.
