Our project this week was to do the House Shaped Card cutting file or the Welcome Home printable set. I decided to do the cutting file because I thought it was fabulous! I cut the card shape and all of the pieces to go on it. For the roof and chimney, I embossed each piece to give it a more realistic look. (See close-up below.) I decided to draw the curtains in the windows to make them look like real windows. I also cut an extra window so that there would be a window on the first floor. I added the door and the curtained window on top of it. I used a small brass brad for the door handle. I textured the house by sponging in different colors. I cut the grasses with a file from the Silhouette Design Studio and glued it onto the bottom of the house. I used a gel pen to make little dots to look like flowers. I had so much fun making this card. I can't wait to make more shaped cards from the Cutting Cafe. You can see all of their files by going to this link:
